We are currently seeking an experienced Permanent Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team in the medical industry. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong legal background who is passionate about healthcare and medical law. The successful candidate will provide crucial support to our legal team, working on a variety of complex litigation matters related to medical malpractice, personal injury, product liability, and other healthcare-related issues.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Litigation Paralegal, your core duties will include:
1. Assisting attorneys in all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and trial documents.
2. Conducting legal research and fact-finding investigations to support ongoing cases.
3. Reviewing and summarizing medical records and other case materials.
4. Coordinating and managing schedules, deadlines, and case needs to ensure smooth progression of legal matters.
5. Preparing and organizing exhibits and evidence for trial.
6. Maintaining case files and databases, ensuring all relevant information is accessible and up-to-date.
7. Communicating with clients, experts, court personnel, and opposing counsel in a professional manner.
8. Supporting attorneys in court or during arbitration and mediation sessions.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Litigation Paralegal position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Law, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably within the medical or healthcare industry.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of litigation procedures and rules of evidence.
4. Proficiency in legal research tools and software, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
5. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
8. Experience in reviewing and summarizing medical records is highly desirable.
9. Certification from an ABA-approved paralegal program is a plus.
