Job Description: National law firm in DT Houston is seeking a litigation/trial paralegal to support 3 litigation attorneys. The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of litigation paralegal experience from the defense side.
TOP THREE THINGS:
- Defense side, trial prep, litigation, calendaring, eFiling (State mostly, summarizing medical records and attended a trial before is a plus)
- Toxic Tort, Public Entity litigation experience is a plus
- Coachable not defensive
- Practice Area: Toxic Torts, Public Entities, General Litigation
- Salary Range: 70k - 90k
- Benefits: more holidays off then normal, parking stipend $125
Hours: 7.5 hour work day (flexible with hours, fully onsite, most paralegals work 8:00am-4:30pm)
Job Duties:
- Draft, file, serve litigation documents (mostly state, some federal)
- Calendar internal and court deadlines.
- Provide direct support to 3 attorneys.
- Efile legal documents on a state and federal court level.
- Assist with case file management, when necessary.
- Maintain timekeeping for attorneys.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 5-20 years of experience, 5 minimum on defense side
- Strong knowledge of iManage
- Must be coachable and not defensive
- Experience with summarizing medical records and iManage is a plus
