About the Job
Responsible for making living safely and independently possible for our clients. The main function of the caregiver is to provide care for clients in a safe, secure, professional environment which meets their needs. The caregiver assists with the activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, incontinence care, meal preparation, medication reminders, keeping the home safe and clean, as well as the overall supervision of the clients’ physical and mental well-being by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Provides daily routine care such as bathing, dressing and feeding.*
2. Assists client in walking to prevent falls.*
3. Provides companionship to clients on a routine basis.*
4. Implements CDC guidelines with regards to good hand hygiene, proper face mask wearing, and current COVID guidelines.*
5. Provides patient transportation to doctor appointments, outside activities and shopping.*
6. Provides light housekeeping which includes changing sheets and doing laundry, vacuuming, swifting, dusting, cleaning the bathroom and keeping kitchen area clean.*
7. Provides medication reminders.*
8. Cooks and serves meals, snacks and pushes fluid intake for our clients.*
9. Answers client’s calls*
10. Assists client with household chores and daily living activities.*

Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Ability to access Always Best Care systems online via computer or smart phone.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Certificates and Licenses:
· State CNA certification
· PCA or HHA certification or equivalent training and experience
· Valid driver's license
· COVID-19 Vaccination
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:
· Oral communication
· Written communication
· Customer service
· Customer relations that includes care of the client, addressing family member concerns
· Diplomacy
· Professionalism in dealing with office staff, assigned clients and assisted living communities
