Job Summary
Provide technical support to Operations on assigned units or assigned field of expertise. Act as a technical liaison for the assigned units or area to other areas of the company (such as the Business Optimization Group, Project Engineering, Process Design Environmental, Safety, Strategic Planning, Purchasing, etc.) as well outside parties (such as equipment, chemical and catalyst vendors).
Minimum Qualifications
- 3.0 GPA or above
- Electrical Engineering Degree
- Co-Op/Internship Experience Preferred
- Valid Drivers License Required
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Eligibility
- Eligibility Requirements: The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration. Job Duties
Develop electrical and instrumentation projects in the refinery, including: electrical power distribution, instrumentation and controls, electric heat tracing, and data communications. Provide technical support to both the Power and Controls Maintenance group and Operations. Develop project front-end engineering documents for electrical and instrumentation projects and participate in detailed engineering and procurement activities. Work in project teams with other engineers and provide engineering support for Process, Piping, and Mechanical groups, as well as other projects in the electrical, instrumentation and control and data communications areas. Design and implement Electrical Heat Trace projects; perform project management functions for the projects assigned including monitoring the work performed by contract engineering companies during all phases of the projects. Provide the engineering support required during the construction phase of projects; and participate in root cause analysis of problems.
Abilities needed: Become familiar with refinery safety, engineering and project procedures, standards, and specifications and use this information during project development and execution. Excellent oral and written skills. Ability to work within and lead a project team.
