Job Summary
The candidate will work in a refinery environment repairing all types of rotating equipment which includes pumps, steam turbines, reciprocating compressors, centrifugal compressors, fin fans, cooling tower fans, gearboxes, and other types of specialty rotating equipment.
Preferred Qualifications Include:
- Mechanical craft experience in the Chemical/Petroleum industry
- College degree or certificate in related field
- Experience with maintaining back pull out & vertical lift pumps
- Experience with mechanical seal fundamentals
- Basic to mid-level machining skill set
- Ability to perform computer alignments
- Ability to perform belt alignments
- Remove/replace reciprocating compressor suction/discharge valves
- Experience maintaining horizontal multistage pumps
- Experience maintaining reciprocating compressors
- Balance rotating elements to API Standard
- Overhaul steam turbines
- Ability to operate carry deck crane
Minimum Qualifications
- Basic maintenance skills
- Must understand mechanical drawings
- Must understand precision measurement
- Must understand basic shop equipment
- Must understand basic pump fundamentals
- Must understand operation of swing davit and overhead cranes
- Must understand rotating equipment preventative maintenance fundamentals
- Must understand appropriate repair documentation
- Must be able to work in a refinery environment
- Must be able to work outdoors, climb, and wear supplied air
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid Driver's License
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Eligibility
- Eligibility Requirements: The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration. All candidates must be eligible to receive a TWIC in order to be considered for an offer.
