Title: Licensed Masters Social Worker/Mental Health Counselor

Position Summary:
We are seeking a licensed social worker or mental health counselor with a master's degree to join our dynamic clinical services team. This professional must be legally authorized to provide mental health services in New York State. As a member of the clinical department, you will work collaboratively with education, clinical, and campus life staff, as well as parents and students, to develop plans and strategies to improve students’ academic performance, mental health, and social development in accordance with Individualized Transdisciplinary Education Plans (ITEPs). Given access to confidential information, discretion and independent judgment are paramount.
Essential Functions – Primary Duties of the Position:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and reassessments of students' functional, behavioral, and emotional needs.
- Develop, implement, and support data collection systems for students across academic, community, and campus life areas.
- Analyze data and progress of students regarding their ongoing functional, behavioral, and emotional needs.
- Utilize a variety of treatment approaches that are safe, creative, and individualized to each student's needs.
- Collaborate, develop, and implement behavior support plans (BIP, ISP, etc.), including training personnel, to improve behavioral outcomes for students.
- Provide crisis management and classroom support as necessary.
- Work with students in their environment, requiring flexible clinical processes and scheduling, including occasional after-hours and weekend availability.
- Maintain open lines of communication with care providers, students, and family members to address student progress and emergencies effectively.
- Maintain appropriate records and reports as required.
- Participate in clinical activities to advance field knowledge and professional development.
- Assist with other programs, events, and services administered through.
- Remain up to date on clinical matters to maintain best-in-class knowledge of evaluation and intervention.
- Participate in community and professional education regarding clinical matters, life skills independence, and related areas.
- Handle group counseling sessions for designated cohorts as needed and required.
- Provide counseling to individuals and groups using various evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
- Perform any other responsibilities as needed and required.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
- A New York State License or license eligibility, and in good professional standing.
- Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or Social Work.
- At least 2-5 years of experience conducting mental health/behavioral assessments, evaluations, and interventions.
- Experience working with students with developmental disabilities or on the autistic spectrum is strongly preferred; school experience is a plus.

- Computer proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software; ability to learn Azimuth SIS, our database management software.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly includes multiple or conflicting demands, deadlines, and time pressures.
- Requires sustained concentration, sitting at a desk, walking up and down stairs (building has 6 floors), and navigating a hilly campus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a 12-month full-time position.
- Traditional 40-hour work week; may require work outside these hours and on weekends as needed.
