Job Summary: The Loan Officer Assistant provides essential support to one or more Loan Officers, ensuring the smooth processing and closing of loan applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Loan Processing Support:
- Prepares loan packages by collecting necessary documentation and information from customers.
- Reviews loan files for completeness and accuracy.
- Follows up on missing documents and addresses any conditions.
- Opens escrow accounts, coordinates inspections and appraisals, and determines insurance needs.
- Pre-qualifies customers using automated underwriting systems (AUS).
- Collaborates with processors and escrow officers to facilitate loan closings.
Customer Service and Communication:
- Answers general customer inquiries regarding policies and procedures.
- Communicates with customers, real estate agents, and title companies to keep them informed about loan progress.
- Coordinates and schedules loan closings.
Administrative Support:
- Maintains Loan Officer databases.
- Assists with marketing campaigns, including email and direct mail.
- Stays updated on market trends and product knowledge.
- Performs various administrative tasks, such as faxing, emailing, and making phone calls.
- Qualifications:
- 1+ years of related experience.
- Demonstrated experience using Encompass360.
- Demonstrated experience working with potential clients/borrowers in a sales environment.
- Demonstrated experience in a customer oriented position.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of mortgage lending processes, procedures and regulations.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of a variety of loan programs including Conventional, FHA, USDA, VA and secondary marketing guidelines to manage complex loan level issues.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of mortgage-related terms, such as escrow, taxes, closing documents and insurance.
