Load Planner
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Process customer orders, plan & optimize shipments into loads, tender freight to third-party carriers • Update Transportation Management System with current shipment information
• Provide detailed instruction to various customers & associates from other shifts by phone and e-mail.
• Provide visibility to management and the customer by tracking, process over-sight, auditing, researching and troubleshooting operational issues or functions.
• Complete daily logs and trackers
• Identify cost savings opportunities during load planning
• Coordinates with carriers to ensure on-time delivery by tracking trucks for pick-up, estimating times of arrival and delivery, and recovering loads when necessary
• Provides load exception investigation and reporting
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred
• 3+ years of experience in Transportation/Supply Chain preferred
• Relevant/Related Work Experience can be substituted for Bachelor's Degree
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time sensitive situations in a fast paced environment
• Competent with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (vlookups and pivot tables)
• Clear and concise communication skills
• Coordinates with carriers to ensure on-time delivery by tracking trucks for pick-up, estimating times of arrival and delivery, and recovering loads when necessary
• Ability to work First and Second Shift as needed. Flexibility with scheduling required.
• Authorized to working in U.S
• A good attitude and ability to work in a team setting
• Able to sense urgency and know when to escalate for assistance
• Can create and maintain professional relationships with customers and carriers
