Loan Accountant - Arkansas Talent Group

Arkansas Talent Group is partnering with a Large Bank in Little Rock to find a Loan Accountant for their organization. This is a newly created position due to growth that will oversee a large portfolio for the organization. The position will report directly to the Controller and work with a team of other Loan Accountants. Client is seeking an Accountant with a strong background in participation loan accounting who is detail oriented.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record, monitor, and audit accounting items and system information related to Participation Loan Accounting and the General Ledger
• Process and reconcile loan participation transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Prepare and maintain loan participation agreements, including tracking ownership percentages and payment distributions
• Monitor and report on the performance of participated loans, including interest accruals and principal payments
• Coordinate with lending teams and participating institutions to ensure proper documentation and communication of loan terms
• Perform monthly reconciliations of loan participation accounts and resolve any discrepancies
• Generate and distribute regular reports on loan participation activities for management and regulatory purposes
• Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to loan participation accounting
• Provide support in risk assessment and management of the loan participation portfolio

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or associate degree in business administration preferred
• 1+ year of experience with loan participation accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of loan accounting systems and software
• Proficiency in internal financial control practices
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Outstanding customer service skills
