Job Details:
A Loan Quality Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of loan files across residential, commercial, and consumer loans. This includes performing audits on loan documentation, maintaining compliance with regulations like HMDA, and preparing quality and exception reports for management review. The role also involves assisting auditors, verifying collateral requirements, and completing quality checks on new and existing loans.
Additionally, the specialist manages the bank's imaging system by scanning, indexing, and filing loan documents, and handles tasks like setting up collateral accounts, quoting payoffs, and processing mail. They also conduct pre- and post-closing reviews for the Mortgage Partnership Finance (MPF) program, ensuring smooth and compliant loan processes, while keeping financial tracking up to date for the lending team.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher in business, finance, or a related field or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in banking, ideally in loan administration, is preferred
- Experience in compliance or audit is beneficial

- Ability to follow strict guidelines when doing loan reviews
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel
- Knowledge or the ability to learn our Core system and loan platforms
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Analytical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently or in a group effectively
- Must demonstrate ethical conduct
Work Schedule:
This position requires 40 hours each week with work typically being completed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. A little overtime may be required depending on the workload. Some travel may be required for training and seminars, or other branches on occasion.
