POSITION SUMMARY:
The loan document specialist is responsible for delivering high level and quality customer service to our internal customers. The work involves duties that require the individual to interpret different policies and procedures, analyze the loan applications received, review the loan documents, and ensure that all the verification processes have been carried out. This is completed before and after closing.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ACCOUNTABILITY 1:
Responsible for conducting and performing high level and large volume of time sensitive tasks and his/her work may include a lot of research work as well. He/she should be able to solve queries, ensuring compliance with the timeliness and quality standards.
ACCOUNTABILITY 2:
Responsible for the accurate and timely imaging of ongoing credit information such as financial statements, tax returns, cash flows, etc., for the various loan accounts. Answers internal customer's inquiries for requests and assistance pertaining to credit imaging questions.
ACCOUNTABILITY 3:
Reviews all notes and modifications prior to closing to verify documentation is accurate, compliance regulations are being followed, and loan policy was followed. Work with processing team to ensure all items identified are corrected prior to funding.
ACCOUNTABILITY 4:
Reviews all new notes in a specified timeframe to verify documentation has been received and loan policy was followed. Identify and track technical exceptions.
ACCOUNTABILITY 5:
Prepares and reviews various reports in support of the credit department (technical exceptions, adequacy of loan loss reserve, substandard accounts, non-accrual, charge-off notices, etc.)
ACCOUNTABILITY 6:
Manages various tracking documents and completes small projects as necessary.
ACCOUNTABILITY 7:
Tracks and monitors insurance policies for collateral. Closely works with insurance agents and lending staff to obtain updated insurance documentation.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keeps abreast of new developments and trends as pertains to the job-related duties.
- Actively seeks opportunities to strengthen ties between the Bank and the community, while maintaining a positive, professional, and respectful image of the Bank.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 2 year college degree or applicable work experience
- Additional bank related training/education preferred
- Proficient computer skills to include Word and Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities in a deadline oriented environment
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Dependable
- Courteous and professional
- Ability to sit for lengthy periods
- Frequent use of office related equipment
