Must Haves: - RN in the state of SC or Compact - 2 years of nursing experience Plusses: - EPIC experience - Previous sickle cell experience Day-to-Day: Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient sickle cell clinic team. The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with sickle cell disease, focusing on both acute and chronic management. This role involves direct patient care, patient education, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care. Key Responsibilities: • Provide direct nursing care to patients with sickle cell disease, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed. • Monitor and manage patients’ symptoms and complications related to sickle cell disease. • Educate patients and their families about sickle cell disease, treatment plans, and self-care strategies. • Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. • Perform routine follow-up and monitoring of patients, including lab work and other diagnostic tests. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation. • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinic protocols and procedures. • Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families. • Stay current with the latest research and advancements in sickle cell disease management.
