Key job responsibilities
- Manage international localization projects end-to-end, working closely with internal business partners, external vendors and other stakeholders
- Coordinate efforts to improve mechanisms that support the localization program across creative, marketing, engineering, and programming verticals.
- Work with content creators, customer strategy owners, and content infrastructure teams to streamline processes upstream and drive best practices for the internationalization of content
- Clearly communicate roadmaps, progress, risks and change control to management and internal cross-functional and remote project teams.
- Write, edit, review and maintain localization process documentation
- Manage translation memories and term bases
- Content editing in Japanese or German
A day in the life
This Localization PM will need to be adept at both managing projects and improving mechanisms, connecting global stakeholders on very specific messaging needs, while also maintaining big mechanisms to remove the roadblocks to delivery of hundreds of thousands of units of content in up to 30 language variants. In order to streamline these mechanisms, they will work with internal partners and external vendors, leveraging both process and technology to achieve our goals. Their key job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

About the team
The Amazon Music Localization Team is embedded within Design & Creative Operations and is responsible for localizing the Amazon Music content in a way that reflects the voice and tone of who the service is for customers globally. The Localization team works closely with content creators, as well as international partner teams across Marketing, Product, Engineering, etc. to deliver a high quality and consistent localized experience across all our touch points, channels and verticals in up to 30 locales.

Basic Qualifications
- Self-starter that can operate efficiently within ambiguous situations
- +3 years of experience as a translator, editor, project manager, program manager or similar role with translation agencies, design studios, production or Internet companies
- A degree in languages, translation, program management or equivalent experience
- Strong Microsoft excel skills
- Demonstrated experience with in-house or third-party translation management and content management systems, including translation memory and terminology database management
- Strong problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to work on different projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
- Proven ability to work cross-team and synthesize feedback and input from creative and technical stakeholders
- Fluency in other languages, preferably German or Japanese
- Demonstrated competency in cross-cultural communication and program building

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $69,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $148,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
