Job Summary: The Location Manager oversees daily operations at an equipment rental facility, ensuring efficient service delivery, adherence to safety standards, and exceptional customer experiences. This role involves managing personnel, inventory, and facility maintenance while striving to meet financial and operational performance targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
- Oversee daily operations, including equipment dispatch, allocation, logistics, and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure all rental equipment is prepared, maintained, and inspected for safety and functionality.
- Develop and implement processes to minimize downtime and optimize equipment utilization.
- Customer Service & Sales:
- Foster a customer-centric environment, promptly addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
- Lead by example in delivering excellent service to build long-term customer relationships.
- Manage local sales efforts, including contract negotiations, account management, and customer retention strategies.
Staff Supervision & Development:
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of rental and service personnel, providing ongoing coaching and support.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, set clear goals, and identify opportunities for employee development.
- Ensure staff adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Inventory & Financial Management:
- Monitor equipment inventory levels, usage, and plan for future demand to meet customer needs.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of rental contracts, invoices, and other financial transactions.
- Manage the location's budget and financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability targets.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, including equipment inspections and employee training.
- Conduct regular audits to identify and address potential safety hazards.
- Stay current with OSHA, DOT, and other relevant regulations to maintain compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in equipment rental, retail management, or a similar environment with supervisory responsibilities.
- Proven track record in operations management, sales, or customer service, with experience meeting financial and performance targets.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with rental software, Microsoft Office Suite, and POS systems.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and experience implementing safety standards in a rental or operational environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to work in various weather conditions and operate equipment as needed.
Availability for extended hours and weekend shifts when required.
Compensation: Competitive salary ranging from $85,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k) plan, and opportunities for career advancement.
