Requirements Bay Area Hospital 127 bed Level III Trauma is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to support Surgical Services and collaborate with physicians in delivering exceptional patient care. Job Description:2 years of Orthopedics PA work experience is required not including training Shift choices: Four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shiftsMay be assigned to Ortho General Surgery Urology or ENTProvides needed procedures including assisting in surgeryPerforms procedures diagnostic procedures and therapeutic procedures within scope of practiceAssists in room setup and turnoverPerforms other duties as assignedAssists operative team as directed by OR manager and charge nursesCustomer-service orientedAssures proper sterile techniques at all times in surgery Effective verbal and written communication skillsMaintains confidentiality thinks and acts independently with minimal supervisionMaintains regular consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job locationPossesses interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with patients families other healthcare staff and other departmentsTakes personal responsibility for ongoing educational growth and collaborates with others to provide solutions for continued patient qualityBasic computer skills. May require periodic use of a personal computer.Meets criteria for Medical Staff or Allied Health Professional membership and privilegesAble to stand walk bend reach and stretch frequently and for prolonged periodsPossesses physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needsNeeds adequate hearing and visual acuity including color visionRequires fine motor skills adequate eye-hand coordination and the ability to grasp and handle objectsAble to use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating transferring in and out of bed chair or wheelchairMay be required to lift up to 75 poundsMust use standard precautions due to the threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluidsNeeds the ability to communicate effectively through reading writing and speaking in person or on the telephoneThis is a permanent full-time position that requires residency within the immediate local area. Relocation may be required.Accepting Perm candidates - submit at Job #54162 Compensation and Benefits: Base salary 160000 This represents the rate for an individual with significant experience in this job in a full-time 40 hour per week position.
