OBGYN Laborist Physician Coverage Needed in Houston Texas

We are seeking qualified OBGYN Laborist Physicians to provide coverage across several Houston hospitals. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of OB experience and expertise in maternal care. Candidates must have a clean file to qualify for temporary privileges.

Job Details:

• Opportunities available at multiple Texas hospitals ranging from Level II to Level IV
• Shifts Available:
  • 12 and 24-hour shifts available 
  • 7 AM - 7 PM, 7 PM - 7 AM, and 7 AM - 7 AM shifts 

Cases and Responsibilities:

• Availability for consultations on all obstetric patients in the Emergency Department or Hospital-Owned Clinics
  • Coordinate transport of acute obstetric patients to or from other facilities
  • Provide surgical assist services to OB/GYN physicians
• Coverage of obstetrical triage unit for evaluation of acute symptoms or signs of labor

Duties:

• Actively manage patients in L&D, antepartum, postpartum, or OBED
  • Evaluate and manage unassigned obstetrical and gynecology patients
  • Perform deliveries and first assist on cesarean sections when needed
  • Manage obstetrical patients from admission through discharge
  • Assist in emergent situations and complex deliveries, including TOLAC
• Provide consultative support and surgical management for gynecology patients
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and ensure compliance with standards

Qualifications:

• Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Current Texas medical license
• Minimum of 5 years of OB experience is required
