LOGISTICS CLERK - Spherion

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Logistics Clerk to join our team! In this role, the Logistics Clerk will be responsible for overseeing the shipping and receiving of our products, primarily cables and other accessories, which range in weight from 25 lbs to 110 lbs (team lift for over 50Lbs). As our business fluctuates, the Logistics Clerk will handle anywhere from 1 to 30 packages a day, shipping between two to five days per week depending on demand. With a goal to increase our in-house inventory, the Logistics Clerk will be crucial to streamlining and scaling our shipping operations. Candidates with hands-on logistics, shipping/ receiving, inventory, or warehousing experience are encouraged to apply. Hours of operation are 9:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday and compensation is $15/hr or more depending on experience. This is a temp-hire opportunity once a reliable attendance record has been demonstrated as well as a positive work ethic.

Responsibilities:

• Handle daily shipping and receiving tasks, including preparing, packaging, and labeling shipments.
• Ensure accurate processing and documentation of shipments using inventory management systems.
• Print shipping labels and complete shipping/receiving tasks using computerized systems.
• Regularly lift and handle packages up to 110 lbs; team-lifting for heavier items.
• Coordinate with shipping carriers and manage scheduling to meet delivery deadlines.
• Maintain organization of the shipping area and manage inventory records.
• Assist in improving shipping processes and bringing more inventory in-house.

Skills:

• Good organizational skills and familiarity with shipping best practices.
• Previous experience in logistics, shipping/ receiving, inventory, or warehousing is preferred.

Qualifications:

• Prior hands-on experience with shipping and receiving operations (not just desk work).
• Experience working with inventory management systems and shipping software (e.g., printing labels, logging shipments, updating inventory records).
• Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 110 lbs regularly (team lift for over 50Lbs).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
