Meridian Fine Foods (FreshKampo) has a Logistics Coordination Manager position available at our Fresno, CA location. Meridian Fine Foods is more than a company, we are experts at bringing Berries direct from the fields to thousands of tables all over the world.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordination Manager to join our team. It is crucial to have an understanding of how to coordinate loads of berries to customers in the US and Canada while minimizing cost per case and getting the product there when the customer needs it! The Logistics Manager will not only be responsible for leading the coordination, but also the management of the logistics operations. This includes inbounds, outbounds, transfers, rejections/carrier claims, KPIs, etc. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with produce, excellent communication skills, familiarity with a fast-paced work environment, and have a strong understanding of logistics processes.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of logistics coordination including inbounds, outbounds, transfers, and rejections/carrier claims.
- Guide and support the sales team with costs and details on delivered order inquiries
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers
- Manage and maintain relationships with carriers, suppliers and customers
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational efficiency
- Present a weekly departmental report on costs, performance and market insight
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in logistics operations
- Strong understanding of logistics processes and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Scheduled, extended hours to cover afterhours needs
- Ability to travel to various sites occasionally throughout the year in both the US and MX
Additional Experience Preferred:
- Proficient in FAMOUS software
- Experience with TMS Software a plus
- Experience in produce, especially berries
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
