Job Summary
This position is responsible for monitoring and expediting the flow of casting lots through the manufacturing processes within an assigned Business Center of Howmet Casting to meet customer delivery requirements and Howmet commitments.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
- Expedites the flow of product through the manufacturing processes to meet customer's delivery requirements and Howmet commitments.
- Establishes priorities based on customers' requirements. Conveys them to production floor.
- Provides accurate inventories for critical jobs/ hardware/cores etc.
- Acts as interface between Business Centers. Interacts routinely with the finish teams of assigned Business Center and appropriate Shared Resource areas to coordinate the consistent flow of all process elements.
- Coordinates the timely processing of product in outplant operations.
- Facilitates the timely processing of samples through lab for product requiring chemistry approvals prior to shipment.
- Provides accurate inventories for assembling weekly and monthly ship lists.
- Participates in lot control meetings. Prior to each meeting, performs inventories, completes lot control inventory sheets, and prepares to discuss potential problem areas.
- Complies with all EHS rules required for the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
