About the Job
Role & Responsibilities:
- Purchasing/Leasing tractors to maintain and/or expand the fleet.
- Scheduling regular maintenance on all vehicles.
- Initiating urgent or emergency repairs as needed.
- Establishing efficient routes and transportation schedules (will train).
- Coordinating Drivers and on-staff maintenance professionals when setting employee schedules.
- Creating customer due date report.
- Creating customer shipment planners.
- Managing vehicle licensure and registration (DOT).
- Searching for, hiring, and training new drivers (in conjunction with the Logistics Manager).
- Providing reports to management on budgeting, schedules, maintenance, and fleet progress.
- Developing methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency.
- Interior/exterior tractor and trailer inspection.
- Answering the shipping/receiving window and directing drivers on where they need to go.
- Answering phone calls.
- Assisting in various tasks as needed.
Shift Hours:
- 6:00 am-4:30 pm (may need to stay later as needed, flexible schedule required).
