In this role, you will be recognized for your materials and plant logistics process development expertise. You will identify, initiate, and deliver process improvements in material handling functions throughout the plant. You will lead Kaizens and Continuous Improvement activities in support of production in a plant that builds tillage products for customers in North America and across the globe. The Logistics Engineer will create, review, and audit logistics processes and standards to ensure the right parts are delivered at the right time to ensure on-time production. This team member will work collaboratively with internal partners, contractors, and suppliers to implement a lean logistics flow throughout our Goodfield, IL manufacturing production facility.
Responsibilities:- Building and maintaining metrics to monitor material flow/logistics system health.
- Coordinate with multi-functional teams within the plant to gain consensus, then deliver and implement material flow solutions that enable smooth and continuous production.
- Design and implement pull replenishment systems to include Kanban, make-to-stock strategies, and establishing buffers between key segments of the production process.
- Create and implement cell-level shop floor layouts to support safe and efficient material presentation.
- Own the material handling personnel plan and continuously analyze and communicate requirements based on production volumes.
The annual salary for this role is $70,500-$94,000 Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
Qualifications:The qualified candidate will have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, Logistics/Supply Chain, or other closely related technical field of study
- 3+ years of manufacturing or logistics engineering experience within a manufacturing setting
OR
- Associates Degree with 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proficient in Excel, Access, and Power BI with the ability to extract system data for use in developing processes solutions.
- Base understanding of MRP systems, material consumption, and shop floor scheduling.
- Experience with plant inventory management processes.
- Hands-on experience implementing logistics processes in a production environment.
- Great teammate with ability to drive a diverse group of multi-functional collaborators to consensus and see projects through to completion.
