Purpose of Role
We are seeking a full-time Logistics Group Leader (Supervisor) to lead delivery/distribution operations in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The Logistics Group Leader is responsible for supporting the overall execution and performance of the operation for a specific location, including staffing, customer relations, performance, and direction of the overall operation.
This position requires a results-oriented, high-energy, dynamic individual in a fast-paced, high-growth delivery network.
Requirements, Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Negotiation and speaking with third party freight providers
Support and organization of customs and tax related issues related to Logistics
Experience utilizing an ERP system for receipt, shipment and warehousing of products
Experience managing trailer staging and storage areas
Support maintenance of all rolling stock assigned to the Logistics department
Warehouse management and organization
Receiving & Shipping docks management and organization
Manage internal movement of material in support of warehouse and production manufacturing
Support shipping audits and compliance as required by ISO and Quality department
Understanding of DOT requirements for freight and shipments
Maintain all KPI's (Key Performance Indicator's) related to Logistics
Develop a solid understanding of the business
Cultivate and sustain a safe environment, high-quality customer delivery, professional driver experience, and a positive culture
Monitoring, verifying, communicating, responding to and acting upon the information generated from all Logistic activities
Timely response to all requests for information or inquiries from internal and external sources
Excellent communication skills with all levels of management and staff will be imperative
Manage and develop 3rd party vendors, providing objectives & challenging opportunities to advance the company
Assist in the recruitment and development of staff
Ensure that practices, policies, and procedures are enforced and consistently implemented
Schedule and participate in negotiations with Vendors, Contractors and Service Providers to secure best value/service standards are met
Drive initiatives that contribute to long-term excellence
Responsible for compliance with Local, Federal and State legislation pertaining to personnel, equipment, vehicle and building matters
Coordinates, resolves, and responds to issues as they pertain to the Operations Performance
Manage and minimize inbound and outbound freight cost through focused cost management of plant and regional backhaul, fuel mpg and cpg, asset utilization, vehicle maintenance, accident and injury prevention, route optimization and other major cost categories
Ensure that equipment and driver performance standards are meeting company specifications and expectations
Measure and report daily/weekly/monthly KPI performance results
Perform other duties as assigned
Professional Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies:
Education and Experience:
Bachelors in related field, preferred.
5+ years of Logistics Management Experience
Communication Skills:
Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing to all levels within the organization, with customers, & external agencies
Reasoning Ability:
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Computer Skills:
Strong computer skills; Microsoft Suite, specifically
SAP experience is a plus
Certificates/Licenses:
Lean Manufacturing a plus
Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations
Other:

Experience Operating a Fork Truck
Experience with dock related equipment, i.e., Dock Locks, Dock Levelers, etc.
