Logistics Operations Supervisor I, RTS
The Logistics Operations Supervisor I are responsible for supervising a team that supports the execution of logistics occurring in one of Niagara’s designated geographic Supply Chain regions. This team is focused on coordinating all logistics related activities that occur once a shipment is planned and scheduled to ship to/from customers or Niagara/3PL warehouses. The Regional Logistics Operations team supports logistics needs for both internal and external customers such as Niagara shipping offices/warehouse staff, Customer Service, Production/deployment planning, Sales and Carriers.
Essential Functions
- Supervising all Logistics Operations team members focused on execution related tasks within designated region such as:
- Daily communication/coordination with plants/3PLs related to the flow of shipments in/out of facilities
- Carrier Pick-Up Appointment changes and coordination
- Order/Shipment Source Location changes and coordination
- Trouble shooting system issues impacting orders that need to ship
- Dock Schedule Appointment Management of all Niagara facilities in the region
- Tracking critically identified shipments with ability to provide truck status to customer service representatives in a timely manner
- General exception management and issue resolution
- Escalation to leadership team when appropriate
- RMA support and resolution
- Building and maintaining relationships with key relevant parties for designated region:
- Niagara plant teams (including leaders i.e. DC managers and Directors)
- Core carriers that service the region
- Customer Service team members
- Production scheduler/ planning team
- Niagara Sales team
- Collaborating with cross functional supply chain leaders to resolve issues and provide logistics related solutions
- Working with Logistics Operations Manager to develop processes and standards for communication between all impacted parties and the execution team
- Developing, gathering and reporting team metrics
- Maintaining and updating all critical job relevant SOPs
- Identifying and developing solutions for improvements in process and communication between departments
- Setting schedules for appropriate coverage, approving time cards and provide coaching on attendance issues
- Identifying fluctuations in workload and delegating responsibilities quickly and efficiently between team members to protect service to the customer.
- Training new employees and identifying and coaching through performance issues
- Partnering with Logistics Operations Manager to create a development plan for team members
