Logistics & Route Planner
The position is responsible for planning and administering a strategic schedule for mobile health testing units operating throughout the Continental US. This “hands on” position requires a thorough understanding of the tasks involved in routing equipment and resources across numerous separate geographic regions in a timely efficient manner.

The position is responsible for planning and administering a strategic schedule for mobile health testing units operating throughout the Continental US. This “hands on” position requires a thorough understanding of the tasks involved in routing equipment and resources across numerous separate geographic regions in a timely efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a database Planning Module to control target date(s) of assignments.
- Utilize mapping software, combined with historical data, and customer requirements to plan routes for each vehicle in a fleet of mobile testing units and teams
- Prepare “provisional calendars” to optimize routing, minimize out-of-route travel, and assign projects to provisional calendars for each regionalized mobile unit
- Maintain an 8-week advance plan for each unit to be scheduled at least 4 weeks in advance of testing appointments.
- Work collaboratively with scheduling staff who will execute the respective schedule plans, continually edit plans based upon customer feedback while managing the efficiency of the logistical plan as it comes together
- Manage/balance customer preferences and requirements in view of the field staff service hours worked on a daily/weekly basis
- Work with Fleet Manager to reschedule any appointments lost to mechanical or weather-related cancellations
Skills:
- Critical Thinking
- Analytical background in logistics, fleet management, and cost analysis
- Working knowledge of transportation equipment trucks/trailers with a solid foundation in DOT hours of service regulations
- Proficient knowledge of geography in the Continental US
- Adaptability. Tolerance for continually changing circumstances with the ability to function under pressure
Certifications & Requirements:
- Four (4) Year University degree - Bachelor of Science (BS) in logistics, materials management, transportation with minimum 5-7 years work experience
- Familiarity with industrial plants and manufacturing processes
- Outstanding communication skills both oral and written
