This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA, and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. The Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD).
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for overseeing and/or serving as a knowledgeable resource for the operations and maintenance of the 227-S staging building, including implementation of Navarro-ATL material control procedures, interface with DOE and other Contractors regarding material control questions/problem resolution, and ensuring accurate delivery of received items. Responsible for ensuring field personnel are compliant with company-mandated and other applicable policies, procedures, programs, and regulations, including DOE directives, personnel safety, environmental compliance, and safety of the general public as it relates to maintaining the 222-S and 227-S staging areas and delivery responsibilities. Creates and maintains a total quality and safe climate that encourages the commitment of all employees to meet or exceed customer needs. Advises management of potential areas of concern and impacts of proposed policy changes and safety issues. Gathers, maintains, formats, and compiles data using established formulae and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Establishes inventory management practices, procedures, and expectations to achieve efficient, structured, and compliant storage areas.
- Directs personnel, ensuring safe use of equipment, and effecting continual housekeeping.
- Supports the physical condition of material and consumable staging areas by planning and implementing design layouts and overseeing the adjustment of consumable stock to maintain sufficient space.
- Develops a process plan including people, resources, equipment, and floor space for material receipts and staging to prevent disorder and loss.
- Confers with field work supervisors and managers to coordinate that inventory staging and materials are identified to support projects and preventative maintenance activities.
- Communicates with other departments to ensure materials are allocated and dispositioned in a timely manner.
- Keeps up to date on the latest federal and state safety regulations.
- Participates in annual property and material inventory activities.
- Conex administrator- Performs conex content storage tracking and allocation, and maintains inventory records. Performs conex usage assessment annually and prioritizes storage space. Pursues planning to eliminate defective conexes and assists in excessing material.
- Fleet equipment custodian of Navarro-ATL heavy equipment- Tracks usage, schedules service and inspections, resolves issues and failures, and ensures fleet equipment is ready to work. Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to fleet maintenance personnel.
- Identifies equipment needed for special projects and initiates lease agreements with fleet services to ensure timely delivery of qualified machinery.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in related field and 5 years of warehousing and logistics related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in related field and 8 years of warehousing and logistics related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, software.

Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)
Grade 16: $86,138 - $108,513
Grade 18: $104,175 - $131,425
The grade level offered to the selected candidate will be based on business needs and the candidate's education, training, and/or relevant experience.
In accordance with the Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc (Navarro) salary determination process, Navarro takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities and the candidate’s education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market.
