Tallon is recruiting for a Logistics Specialist/Logistics Technician to support warehouse and freight operations. This position is a direct hire working for our client and offers a competitive W2 salary with benefits. Qualified candidates will have a demonstrated track record of providing excellent task management in a warehouse/logistics environment while meeting a high level of customer satisfaction. 

Location: On-Site
Travel: Minimal, as needed

Job duties include:

• Work in a collaborative environment interacting with project managers, vendors, and company personnel
• Establish and fulfill shipping schedules for incoming and outgoing shipments and deliveries
• Ensure method of shipment uses proper shipping procedures, routes, and rates
• Prepare products and materials for shipment
• Select and/or assemble shipping containers, secure items using spacers, fillers, and padding, and verify shipment details/labels
• Prepare and maintain all shipping documents in compliance with record retention schedules for packing lists, bills of lading, and export documentation
• Manage freight claims, as needed
• Maintain inventory for shipping materials and supplies
• Record receipts for all incoming materials and equipment
• Verify incoming shipments including unpacking, examining contents, recording any damage or shortages, and reporting discrepancies
• Correspond with shipper to reconcile any damages or shortages
• Manage equipment receipts and issue using Costpoint system
• Route incoming materials, supplies, or equipment to the warehouse and/or appropriate department or organization
• Operate forklift and hand truck to move, convey, and hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage/work areas
• Maintain shelf stock inventory for issue to projects
• Support facility manager to maintain all required certifications to meet compliance requirements

Requirements include:

• U.S. citizenship
• Current security clearance or ability to obtain security access
• 5-7 years of related logistics experience with shipping/receiving and warehouse operations
• Ability to lift 40 pounds 
• Ability to stand and work on your feet continuously for 4 hours at a time
• Experience operating a forklift for loading/unloading trucks and working in high bay operations
• Experience with import/export processes and terminology and ability to manage required documentation
• Computer proficiency and experience working with MS Office Suite (must have experience using Outlook, Word, SharePoint, Excel)
• Experience using supply chain and procurement software applications
• Experience using project tracking software
• Ability to support business travel, as needed (anticipated to be minimal)

Preferred experience includes:

• Prior experience supporting shipping and warehouse operations for electronic components and products is preferred
• Experience working with Costpoint is preferred
• Experience working with Export on Demand applications is preferred
