We are seeking an eager, poised, assertive, and ambitious leader with the passion to lead and develop employees and teams in our Logistics Department to deliver outstanding manufacturing results in the areas of Cost, Quality, Service, People, and Environment.
The Logistics Supervisor role primarily oversees the scheduling team and ensures accurate creation and management of daily schedules consistent with production demands and collective bargaining agreement requirements. The ideal person must possess the initiative to share best practices within the facility, across our supply chain, and with external resources to achieve leading-edge manufacturing and supply chain technologies.
Salary Range: $67,000 - $ 101,000
Job Responsibilities:
- Assign direct reports work & shifts workloads as necessary in response to operational needs, ensuring all operations scheduling is covered to meet operational needs.
- Supervise team performance and perform quality audits for accuracy of schedules to ensure SMETA and CBA compliance are met.
- Hold team to individual performance expectations on a daily and long-term basis, driving direct reports to develop talents and expertise, providing direct reports with the training and tools necessary for continued growth; and holds timely discussions on any performance issues or concerns.
- Interacts with management and hourly associates to work through labor scheduling problems and concerns; review associated documentation to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and resolves any compliance issues.
- Maintain scheduling tools for accuracy, including bid changes, skills matrices, day off overtime lists, training, and related matters.
- Focus on Safety of all employees and work environment through adherence of safety procedures.
- Deliver continuous improvement in key initiatives of Cost, Quality, Service, People, and Environment through efficient use of materials, equipment and resources.
- Optimize staffing to ensure efficient yet effective labor productivity.
- Achieves results through teamwork: Leads through positive influence; coaches and develops others and, where appropriate, peers.
- Provides interdepartmental support and coverage for the logistics team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Knowledge:
- Bachelors Degree and Three (3) plus years of work experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment or High School Diploma and 5 plus manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Two (2) plus years leadership experience
- Must possess proven leadership, problem solving, and decision-making skills including scheduling and filling overtime.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills at various levels of the company
- Proficient computer skills, including usage of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with Enterprise inventory and warehouse systems, highly desired
- Effective communication skills for working cross-functionally in a fast-paced work environment
Preferred Experience and Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of labor scheduling and employee relations
- Supervisory experience in a unionized environment
Hours: Day Shift (8am - 5pm with flexibility) this role may require off-shift hours, weekends and holidays as needed.
