Job Title: Long-Term Substitute Teacher K-12

Location: Denver Colorado
Type: Full-Time, Temporary (with potential for long-term placements)
Reports To: School Principal or Designated Supervisor

Position Overview

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Long-Term Substitute Teachers to provide consistent, high-quality instruction and classroom management in the absence of regular teachers. This role is essential to maintaining continuity in student learning during extended teacher absences. As a Long-Term Substitute Teacher, you will have the opportunity to positively impact scholars in Denver public schools, fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lesson plans provided by the regular teacher or create lessons in alignment with curriculum standards when needed.
• Maintain effective classroom management and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Communicate regularly with school staff, students, and parents to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
• Assess student performance, provide feedback, and track academic progress during the assignment.
• Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse student needs and learning styles.
• Support students in achieving academic goals and personal growth through mentorship and guidance.
• Uphold school policies, procedures, and culture, serving as a role model for positive behavior.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old
• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Be legally eligible to work in the United States
• Pass a criminal background check
• Be able to work at least two weekly assignments

You may also need to:

• Complete a behavioral interview
• Complete training modules and an assessment test
• Provide two professional letters of recommendation
• Have your photo taken for a badge
• Provide information on your living addresses for the past 10 years
