Loss Control Consultant
Position #40841 37.5 Hours per Week The starting hourly pay for this position is $34.14 - $46.63
This position offers a Trainee Status at a pay rate of $32.73 per hour

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Administrative Services, Division of Risk and Benefits has a full-time vacancy for a Loss Control Consultant
Summary: Under the supervision of the Manager, Property and Casualty, administers the statewide health, safety, and environmental program which includes identifying loss exposure for personnel, property, and potential liabilities present in State operations
Identifies, evaluates, and recommends cost effective means for protection against loss exposures
Analyzes trends, costs, and causes of loss and suggests opportunities for cost savings

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Masters degree from an accredited institute of higher education with major study in business, finance, health and safety, public administration, or a related field
Experience:
Six years' experience in loss control, safety and health, industrial hygiene or in a related risk management or insurance position, four years of which must have been in a management level position involving administrative or supervisory duties concerned with program administration, program planning and evaluation, business management or related management experience
OR
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute of higher education with major study in business, finance, health and safety, public administration, or a related field
Experience:
Seven years' experience in loss control, safety and health, industrial hygiene or in a related risk management or insurance position, four years of which must have been in a management level position involving administrative or supervisory duties concerned with program administration, program planning and evaluation, business management or related management experience
License/Certification:
Valid drivers license or access to transportation for Statewide travel
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of OSHA compliance
Responsibilities: Develops short- and long-term organizational health and safety goals pertaining to statewide operations and maintains loss control program policies for Statewide use
Develops methodology for evaluating efficiencies and cost effectiveness of loss control programs
Evaluates state and federal regulations to prepare and maintain statewide loss control standards, procedures, and programs
Provides assistance as needed to agencies in responding to loss control and/or environmental issues/concerns
Develops and maintains both Statewide and agency specific workers compensation claims reports, incident rate reports, and other reports as needed or directed
Develops professional and technical loss control and risk management training modules by working in conjunction with applicable vendors
Responsible for the overall quality of the training programs and solicits participant feedback
Evaluates work performance of professional and technical employees who are responsible for loss control at the agency level
Serves as a esource to agencies and develops toolkits to ensure agency compliance in claims reporting, accident prevention and investigation, and other related loss control programs
Reports on and/or presents recommendations for corrective action in cases where state agencies are non-compliant
Supports agencies in setting up and running effective Joint Loss Management Committees (JLMC), workers compensation (WC) temporary alternative duty (TAD) programs, drafting, implementing, and managing fleet auto accident reduction plans and other loss control policies
Assists in managing WC claims, following up on accident investigations, and participating in scheduled WC claim reviews
Coordinates with fleet vendor for training, safe driver program and regular auto liability claim reviews
Coordinates fleet implementation rollout in the event of a change in program and/or vendor
Supports Division of Risk and Benefits leadership on special projects, including but not limited to, providing subject matter expertise related to employee safety proposals and financial modeling for collective bargaining
Supports and collaborates with leadership in administering workflow
May coordinate with appropriate agency staff to ensure statewide inventory schedules for fleet, watercraft and State property are maintained
