Who We re Looking For:
We are seeking a driven and confident leader with at least 3 years of experience in hospitality management, including new opening experience and a solid understanding of bar operations. The ideal candidate will know the intricacies of both late-night and daytime operations and be committed to delivering outstanding guest experiences. You should have a proven ability to drive revenue, manage staff, and maintain seamless operations in a lounge setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Oversee all aspects of lounge operations, ensuring smooth service during late-night and weekend brunch hours.
New Opening Expertise: Utilize experience from previous openings to streamline processes and help establish SOST as a D.C. nightlife standout.
Team Management: Lead and motivate the front-of-house team, ensuring high levels of performance, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
Guest Experience: Create a welcoming and exciting environment for guests, addressing inquiries and resolving issues professionally.
Event Coordination: Work with the events team to manage special events, including music programming, entertainment, and private functions.
Financial Oversight: Manage labor costs, inventory, and operational expenses. Contribute to monthly P&L reviews and support financial goal achievement.
Beverage Program & Bar Oversight: Collaborate with the beverage manager to maintain a high-quality cocktail program. Oversee training of bar staff and ensure excellence in bar service.
Compliance: Ensure the lounge adheres to all health, safety, and labor regulations.
Marketing & Social Media: Partner with the marketing team to promote events and specials and maintain an engaging online presence.
Inventory & Ordering: Manage inventory levels and ensure timely ordering of supplies, maintaining strong vendor relationships.
Schedule Management: Develop and maintain staff schedules, ensuring optimal coverage for peak times, particularly during late-night and brunch hours.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of hospitality management experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have managed new openings and are well-versed in bar operations.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
Financial acumen and ability to manage budgets, including P&L interpretation.
Hands-on leadership style, able to lead by example and step into any operational role as needed.
