The primary shift will be 8:00am-4:30pm, and may also work 8:15am-4:45pm.
General Summary:
- The LPN works under the general supervision of the Practice Supervisor, an Ambulatory RN or other licensed provider to deliver excellent patient care completing the duties and responsibilities of the position while complying with the HIPAA and CVPH confidentiality policies.
- Responsible to manage patient flow while supporting physician (s) to ensure efficient use of their time and minimize patient wait time.
- Responsible to perform operational and quality/risk management duties according to regulations and protocols.
- Requires regular use of independent judgment to interpret and apply policies, procedures and practices.
- AHA-BLS certification is required however, certification is not a qualifying factor to obtain the position.
Education/Skills Required:
1. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required.
2. Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.
3. AHA-BLS is required within 6 months of hire or current non-AHA-BLS card will be honored up to date of renewal.
4. Understanding and commitment to CVPH core values of teamwork, commitment, confidentiality and quality care.
5. Excellent attention to detail.
6. Good written and verbal communication skills.
7. Above average spelling and memory skills.
8. Working knowledge of medical terminology and medications.
9. Develop and maintain effective relationships with staff, providers, patients and external customers.
10. Knowledge of medical practice management and/or electronic medical records systems preferred.
11. Utilize available business technology to perform assigned duties.
12. Above average organizational skills.
13. Ability to make appropriate decisions with a minimum amount of supervisory direction.
14. Previous obstetrical nursing experience required.
15. Previous OB/GYN office experience preferred.
16. Previous experience in urodynamics preferred.
17. As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
