LPN - Maplewood Rehab and Nursing

Purpose of position:

• The primary purpose of your job position is to provde direct nursing care under the supervision of the RN Shift Su[ervisor and to supervise the day to day nursing activities performed by the nursing assistants. Such su[pervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, local standards, HIPPA regulations, guidelines and regulationg that govern our facility, and as may be directed by your supervisor, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Scope of Responisbility:

• As a Nurse, you are responsible and accountable to carry out your assigned duties and you will report directly to the RN Shift Supervisor.

Working Conditions:

• Works throughout the nursing service area (drug rooms, nurses stations, resident rooms, etc.)
• sits, standsm bends, lifts and moves intermittently during work hours
• is subject to frequent interruptions
• is involved with residents, personnel, visitors under all conditions and circumstances 
• is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members and visitors
• works beyond normal working hours and on weekend and holidays when necessary. Scheduled hours may cahnge to mee facility needs
• attends and participates in continuing educational programs
• is subject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, exposure to chemcals, etc, throughout the workday
• is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases and conditons
• maintains a liaison witht he residents, their families, support departments, etc, to adequately plan for resident needs

Educational requirements:

• must be a Massachussetts LPN in good standing

Experience:

• General work ecperience in a hospital, long term care facility, or other related health care facility is preferred, but not required.
