A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN LPN
As an LPN, you are the heart and soul of our team. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse/CNS, you get to help our senior/elderly residents stay close to home and live with independence and dignity. You do more than just provide medication reminders or assist with meals, light housekeeping, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, errands, and appointments. While those tasks are important, you also provide companionship and socialization, as you support them in visiting with friends, attending events, or working on hobbies.
You make sure that they are mentally stimulated, physically active, and well-nourished, encouraging independence and promoting family involvement as much as possible. You are meticulous about reporting any changes or concerns promptly. In this way, you provide real peace-of-mind for them and their families.
QUALIFICATIONS
- LPN License with the State of Minnesota
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
Experience working in a long-term care setting is favored. Can you work well independently and in a team environment? Do you have excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage your time effectively? Do you have strong communication skills? WORK SCHEDULE
Our LPN's work a set of different schedules and as needed. The typical schedule includes rotating every other weekend and every other holiday. The typical hours are listed below:
- AM shifts 6:00am-2:00pm
- PM shifts 2:00pm-10:00pm

Job Summary:
Under the direction of and in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Supervisor (CNS), performs responsibilities exercising initiative, judgment, and independent decision-making within the scope of the State Nurse Practice Act, gerontological nursing, state & federal regulations. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will observe, gather, communicate, propose interventions, record data about resident conditions in a supervised, systematic approach to the care of residents and their families. The LPN services as a member of the interdisciplinary team to provide an environment that enables each resident to reach their highest attainable state of well-being.
Job Qualifications:
Must meet and maintain State requirements of an LPN.
Experience working the long-term care setting favored.
Completion of on-site orientation program will be given to obtain desired entry level competency.
Work effectively with general supervision, ability to organize and manage own workload in a busy environment. Some independent actions are required.
Knowledge of resident care plans, and state home care regulations.
Ability to communicate well with residents and families promoting customer service and respect.
Must maintain a calm and warm working environment with co-workers.
Meet the physical job demands of the position
RESIDENTS
Reports Vulnerable Adult issues to their director supervisor as necessary.
Visits with residents routinely regarding cares, activities, menus, likes and dislikes etc.
Offers resolution or a visit from the appropriate individual who may offer resolution to any dislikes or concerns and communicates those with direct supervisor.
Ensures any grievance is documented and reported to either the Assisted Living Manager or facility RN.
Incorporates customer orientated approach into daily routine.
Maintains resident's confidentiality and respect according to HIPPA and Resident Rights.
