We are immediately seeking LPN's in our Brentwood location to care for the Sisters of St Joseph Convent for the 2-10 pm (Part-Time) , 6am-2pm (Full-Time), 10pm-6am (Full-Time) shifts. Successful candidates will have a sincere passion for working with the elderly population. We are looking for highly professional nurses who are comfortable communicating with all levels as well as tending to the needs of our sisters. Salary Range is $27.00 to $36.00 hourly.
Qualifications:
- Valid NYS nursing license
- Minimum of 1 year nursing experience, preferably with the elderly population
- Experience with EMR preferably Matrix
- Excellent bedside manner and communication skills
- Geriatric or hospice care experience a plus
- Strong Oral and Written Interpersonal skills
- CPR certification
- Must be fully COVID vaccinated
Responsibilities (may include but is not limited to):
- Offer each Sister personal, compassionate attention in an atmosphere conducive to physical and mental health.
- Provide continuing assessment of the Sisters nursing needs and, under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Manager, offer follow-up nursing care services.
- Collect health information and record vital signs.
- Administer and chart all medications according to protocol.
- Apply knowledge of drugs, drug interactions, diagnostic tests and other therapeutic modalities based on established principles and precautions.
- Document all changes in the Sisters physical, emotional or cognitive status.
- Ability to communicate in interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor and instruct nursing aides in giving the Sisters safe quality care according their changing needs.
- Perform treatments, testing and therapeutic measures prescribed by a licensed physician within the scope of the LPN license.
- Provides skilled nursing care tasks and procedures under the direction of an RN, Physician, or other authorized health care provider.
- Report any change in a Sisters physical, emotional or cognitive status to the RN Supervisor.
- Identify, assess and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Coordinate the activities of nursing aides in transporting the Sister to the Chapel, dining room, recreational activity and in-house appointments.
- Assist in the preparation of end of shift reporting.
- Receive phone messages and direct them appropriately.
- Perform any and all duties necessary for the well-being of the Sisters.

Compensation for this position is based according to market rate and experience level.
