LPN- Mobile Unit Nurse - Health Ministries Clinic

About the Job
This position will be primarily located on our mobile unit, but you will also be working in the main clinic The mobile unit consists of two exam rooms and travels daily with support staff from our main clinic in Newton, KS to different locations within our defined region. This requires a willingness to be flexible, adaptable to different environments, and a commitment to providing equitable, high-quality healthcare services to underserved populations. Ideal candidates will have a background in behavioral health in addition to primary care.

- Degree in Nursing
- Current unrestricted Kansas Nursing License
- 1+ years' nursing experience, clinic or public health nursing preferred
- Current BLS certification
- Knowledge of public health preferred
Position Summary:

The position is to provide general nursing care and leadership, working collaboratively with physicians and integrated team members of Health Ministries Clinic. The nurse will promote and restore patient's health as they prescribe provide, delegated, evaluated and coordinated comprehensive professional nursing care through the use of the nursing process for patients of all ages, gender, cultures and background; provide physical and physic-social support to patients, friend and families.
Primary Responsibilities:

- Communicate and collaborate with providers, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimum primary care
- Create and contribute to patients' electronic medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Administer medications, and vaccinations and render treatment to all ages as ordered by a healthcare provider
- Respond appropriately to inquiries, concerns and complaints from patients, parents, or caregivers
- Participate in quality improvement efforts
- Counsel and educate patients and family members before, during and after appointments
- Assist with tracking of outside lab tests, procedures, radiology, and referral reports as assigned
- Assist with tracking and maintaining a medical supply inventory
- Follow clinic policies and procedures
- Environmentally controlled medical office
- Fast paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent situations
- Possible exposure to bodily fluids, infectious specimens, communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a medical office environment
- Frequent interaction with a diverse population including team members, providers, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public.
- Frequent standing, walking, grasping, carrying, reaching, bending, stooping and speaking
- Occasional sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds, with assistance if needed
- May need to lift or turn patients who are disabled, with assistance if needed
- Frequent use of computer, keyboard, copy and fax machine and phone
