Shift Notes: 8 hr Shifts Monday-Friday 40hr guarantee
Weekend Requirements: None/Holiday coverage if required

** ANOTHER NAME FOR THIS PROFESSION IS FLUORESCENCE-ACTIVATED CELL SORTING (FACS). A cytotechnologist without the ASCP (SCYM) will not be considered for this need.
The Flow Cytometry Technologist is responsible for performing analytical cytometry examinations, quality control, instrument maintenance, testing validations, and other functions while implementing the hospital and laboratory missions, goals, and objectives.
Additional Requirements (including but not limited to):
- Independent judgment and initiative are required to schedule, organize, and plan work.
- Teach medical technology students how to process specimens and answer computer-related questions.
- Responsible for care and accuracy in the collection and labeling of specimens.
- Flexibility and adaptability in emergencies including working additional hours or shifts.
- Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and alertly for extended periods and under stress, to ensure against errors.
- Above average manual dexterity.
- Effective communication skills, use of computer systems, listening, speaking, writing, and reading.
- Knowledge of HIS and LIS.
- Assorted laboratory analyzers and equipment appropriate to the scope of position and dependent upon current technology.
- 3 years of current experience in an approved laboratory
- ANOTHER NAME FOR THIS SKILL IS FLUORESCENCE-ACTIVATED CELL SORTING (FACS)
- A bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science required
- Previous travel experience preferred
- ASPC (Cytometry, SCYM required) or ICCE required - Equivalent certs are not accepted - An ASCP/Cytotechnologist will not be accepted without the SCYM or ICCE Test
- Must have the ability and education to perform high-complexity laboratory testing
- Traveler candidate must have their vehicle. This is a firm requirement.
