At Bay Photo, our reputation for quality and efficiency starts with the organization and care of our high volume of production materials, supplies, equipment, and people. We are seeking a Machine Maintenance & Repair technician to support our team.
Summary of Position
The Machine Repair, Maintenance & Facilities Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs on assigned manufacturing equipment and facilities including installations, electromechanical troubleshooting, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating, cooling, and other building systems. This is a non-exempt position.
Essential Responsibilities
- Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair
- Troubleshoots Electrical & Mechanical issues to determine necessary repairs to manufacturing equipment using manuals, schematics or Technical Support as needed
- Plans repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manuals as needed
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems and manufacturing equipment
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities
- Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Skills
- Ability to follow instructions from Supervisors or Facilities & Maintenance Manager
- Knowledge of general Electromechanical
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Able to work alone or within a team environment
- Initiative and a self-starter
- Schematic reading or knowledge preferred
Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Related experience or technical training preferred
- Proficient in commonly used software programs
Physical Requirements
- Stand/walk for most of an eight-hour shift
- Must be able to lift 55 lbs. and team-lift or handle items ranging from 100-500 lbs.
- Ability to work in an environment with changing temperatures, exposure to outside, dust and noise
- Perform repetitive motions throughout the day
- Frequent twisting, reaching above head, bending, squatting motions
- Regularly reach stock or orders up to a height of 72”
Availability
- Available for OT during busy seasons of the year
- Flexible with scheduling changes
- Reliable in work ethic and in attendance
Compensation
- $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
