Position Summary:
Perform all Tsugami and KSI Citizen Swiss machine operation functions and program/set-up, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.
Essential Responsibilities:
The following essential functions represent the primary work performed; however, other responsibilities could be expected that not detailed here but fall within the scope of this role.
- Set up and operate Tsugami and KSI Citizen Swiss machines.
- Troubleshoot problems on the Swiss machine if needed
- Load raw steel to Swiss and unload finished product from Swiss
- Perform a visual inspection of raw steel and finished jobs
- Submits correct first articles to QA, monitors dimensions, and adjusts as required to maintain tolerances.
- Advise lead/supervisor of shortages or poor-quality materials/products
- Accurately count all pieces to ensure no extra or missing parts
- Tag completed jobs with proper work order data
- Report supply needs and equipment breakdowns to thelead/supervisor
- Maintain all equipment in the department as guidelines direct and assist with routine maintenance
- Complete all required paperwork in a correct and timely manner
- Maintain a clean and orderly workstation at all times.
- Follow all company processes and procedures with high attention to safety and quality.
Minimum Skills, Abilities, and Requirements:
- Advanced experience in Swiss machine programming, set-up, and operation and work independently
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot solutions
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
- Trade school or Associate in Machining preferred or High school diploma or equivalent
- Read/use measuring devices as small as .003"; read blueprints and process sheets in both standard and metric
- Possess computer skills necessary to operate the CNC terminal
- Knowledge of different types of raw materials (cold rolled steel, hot rolled, stainless steel, and galvanized)
Work Environment, Physical, and Mental Demands: Incumbents in this role will primarily perform their work in a production warehouse and interact with team members throughout the facility, both in the office and the production warehouse.
The production warehouse will work with and around various industrial warehouse equipment and vehicles, such as forklifts and robotic arms, in an environment that includes exposure to loud noise levels, vibration, chemicals, dust, fumes, mechanical hazards, bright lights and hot or cold temperatures. While performing the duties of this position, incumbents are required to do all of some of the following, with or without accommodation:
- Attend to machinery (workstation) for long periods, up to an entire shift, managing the controls of the equipment in a safe and effective manner
- Use a computer keyboard, mobile device, desktop computer, laptop, calculator, telephone, walkie-talkie, copy machine, and other production warehouse tools or controls
- Mentally focus on tasks and apply sound reasoning and judgment
- Review documents, monitors or displays with potentially small print
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, face shields, hard hats, masks, gloves or other PPE required to operate equipment safely and effectively
- Move through the production warehouse facility on a potentially uneven or slippery surface
- Respond to safety control noises or alarms such as fire alarms, forklift horns, and machinery alerts
- Reach under, over, above or around machinery or other objects, such as bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing to perform work
- Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds and heavier weights with the proper equipment.
The typical workdays and hours for the organization vary depending on the role being performed with potential for extended hours, including weekends or holidays based on business needs.
This role will typically be expected to perform work Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am- 4:30 pm onsite at the facility.
This role is classified as full-time nonexempt (hourly) and incumbents will work a minimum of 40 hours in a work week. Work is expected to be delivered within established deadlines and quality standards within specific time periods. This is typically within a 40-hour work week. Overtime (working more than 40 hours in a work week) may be worked when approved or could be required if requested by a manager.
