We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.
The Machine Operator (Level 3 - SMT-3) independently operates automated high-speed lithium-ion battery production machines within a clean-room environment. This includes machine maintenance, equipment cleanliness assurance, troubleshooting, and the execution of routine maintenance tasks. Additionally, as an SMT-3, responsibilities entail training colleagues to support high production standards and compliance with safety protocols.
Essential Duties:
- Complying with and promoting adherence to safety policies and procedures during the execution of responsibilities.
- Responsible for the independent operation of multiple production machines to ensure continuous and uninterrupted performance, including implementing proactive measures, diagnosing and resolving operational issues, and executing machine recovery procedures as necessary.
- Executing advanced proactive and reactive maintenance activities such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), thorough cleaning, tensioning, pressure adjustments, and equipment modifications.
- Diligently monitoring operational processes, ongoing visual inspections, and quality assessments are crucial to meeting our predetermined acceptance standards, which are essential to our operations.
- Maintaining a clean and secure work environment following the 6S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety) while demonstrating a thorough understanding of departmental workflows, processes, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with and implementing work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), particularly when assigned the task of creating essential documentation following specific requirements.
- Facilitating the transfer of knowledge and expertise through direct peer-to-peer training.
- Responsible for engaging in clear and effective verbal and written communication with colleagues to reinforce our dedication to the PECNA High-Performance Culture.
- Ability to meet the physical demands and the PPE requirements of the role
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees', wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full NFPA Cal Suits, Cotton Hi-Viz Uniform, EH Boots, Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements:
Basic/Required:
- High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED), or 2 years of production or manufacturing experience.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proficient in the English language, encompassing adeptness in reading, writing, and verbal communication.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in sub-assemblies, drive units, and equipment rebuilds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful completion of Standard Work and Job Instruction training. A solid understanding of Kaizen and active participation in Standard Work Improvement activities
- Four to Six years of experience in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite and experience in computer operations, with knowledge of navigating department-specific system programs.
