Schedule:
- 2nd shift (2:00pm-11:00pm) Monday- Friday with Overtime Options!
- Shift Premium - $1.00 for Night Shift

Work Environment
This position is in a plant environment which includes frequent exposure to heat, noise, moving mechanical parts and forklift traffic. You will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses and safety shoes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for replacing Hot Mill Operator or Upcoiler for continuous operation
- Must be able to perform the duties of Hot Mill Operator, which are reducing the coils of aluminum by running them through the mill
- Must be able to perform the duties of Upcoiler, which prepare coils for finishing
- Assist with all roll changes and coolant tank cleaning
- Assist with cleaning run-out table rollers and changing felt roller pads when necessary
- Inspect coils/metal for quality defects
- Ability to keep the mill going at all times, which produces higher quality metal
- Responsible for manipulating controls to shave metal from sides of slabs
- Transport slabs from saw exit conveyor to machine bed with overhead hoist
- Adjust machine to proper settings
- Activate machine (by pressing buttons)
- Turn slab to reverse side with overhead hoist, activate machine
- Transport slab from machine bed to storage with overhead hoist
- Keep track of production and make out daily time cards
- Load slabs on saw table by operating overhead crane hoist
- Adjust saw cut to either a 36" or 42" cut & 47" slab
- Cut off top of slab, middle, and bottom
- Replace scrap box as needed
- Keep different alloys in separate boxes
- Clean up around saw at the end of each shift
- Help scalper operator when needed
- Load reheats when needed
- Starts-up and inspect all upcoiler, sheet cooler, shear motors and equipment
- Operate equipment to bring metal through sheet cooler
- Operate equipment and shear to cutback metal to proper width
- Operate equipment to coil metal to proper ID
- Band and mark coil with F.O #, Coil # and heat #
- Operate forklift to properly store coils in floor racks
- Complete shop paperwork as coils are being rolled
- Assist with all roll changes and coolant tank cleaning
- Assist with cleaning run-out table rollers and changing felt roller pads when necessary
- Inspect coils/metal for quality defects
- Notify supervisor if quality concerns are noted
- Responsible for general and preventive maintenance of Rolling Mill equipment
- Follow and improve a program of lubrication for all Rolling Mill equipment, including frequency and specific lubricant to use
- Change Hot Mill table roller pads as needed
- Oil and sand Hot Mill table rollers as needed to eliminate roller marks
- Maintain proper levels of all hydraulic fluids and Hot Mill coolants
- Investigate, adjust and make minor repairs on any one of approximately 45 automatic lubrication systems
- Change and replace any of approximately 5 Fuller's Earth filters
- Replace all remaining filter cartridges when necessary
- Maintain proper supply of lubricants and reorder when necessary Advocate for continuous improvement projects
- Willingness to cross train
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
