Role Summary:
At PI our Machine Technicians are ultimately charged with the ongoing and consistent operations of the machinery and equipment. Those in this role are responsible for machine set-up, repair, maintenance, and ongoing machine operations. Machine Technicians have a complex role and are a crucial part of the production team, as they need to troubleshoot and solve unpredictable situations as they arise. They are the first line of defense and provide ongoing insight and expertise to help prevent issues in the future.
Accountable for:
- Understanding the needs of customers and their definition of a quality part.
- Ensuring that the output of the production process is of the highest quality and training others on how to maintain high quality output consistently
- Progressing through the competency model program to continuously learn and build on expertise and knowledge.
- Assessment of the level of quality of a part in partnership with the inspector/packers it determine if quality is within acceptable standards; and make machine adjustments as necessary.
- The success of the broader team, which may include filling in for other roles when necessary.
- Completion of accurate production records in a timely manner
- Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP) to ensure team member and product safety
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader
Desired Qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Attention to detail
- Desire for continual learning and personal development
- Mechanical aptitude
Physical Demands:
Frequent lifting of 15-25 lbs/Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs/More than 50 lbs requires a team lift
Frequent repetitious tasks with upper extremities
Prolonged periods of standing on concrete floor
Ability to correctly wear/use personal protective equipment including long sleeves as required
Frequent climbing steps and/or ladders while working on elevated platforms
Work involves exposure to high temperatures
