MACHINIST - U.S. Pacific Fleet, Commander in Chief

Summary You will serve as a MACHINIST at the Everett Detachment in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will program, setup, and operate CNC machinery (CNC Lathes with live tooling, Multiple axis mills with accessories, CNC Shaft Lathe, CNC vertical Turret Lathe with live tooling, and/or CNC Floor mill) to repair and fabricate ships components. You will create new CNC machining programs. You will provide programming and machining support. You will review work packages to determine machine selection and plan for the part repair or manufacturing process. You will select and set cutting tools. Work is primarily performed in the shop and requires standing for long periods. It may require working in uncomfortable positions which involve stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing. Vision must be such that incumbent can identify color coding of materials and can read small scales down to 1/64th of an inch. Incumbent will primarily work in a shop environment, but on occasion may be required to work aboard ship in confined and congested areas.
