Machinist Foreman Alternate Shift
M-TH 8PM-6:30AM
Machinist Foreman will oversee and keep production moving and employees busy. You are the direct contact each day for your team to ensure productivity.
Make sure your team is aware of deadlines and expectations, including any pertinent details discussed during the huddle. Communication is extremely important.
Strategic Scheduling with regard to workload. Strategically decide the best way to manage your team.
Manage your team's training and ensure they complete required training and online training.
Oversee quality control for your department, make sure your department is putting out the best product. Other QC measures may be put in place, but you should oversee your team and its quality.
You know the expectations regarding dates, so you need to provide input to the supervisor on what is required to meet delivery schedules. Foremen should also communicate their needs when PTO requests are issued. The supervisor will handle the requests, but feedback is helpful when PTO is submitted.
Responsible for compliance in the department with Safety, Policies, and Procedures. You should always be making sure your team puts safety, policies, and procedures as a priority. Handling these issues quickly can avoid future problems.
Reviews and written warnings/reprimands should be a partnership between supervisors and HR. Machinist Foreman works with their team daily and knows of potential noncompliance or unacceptable behavior issues. Therefore, communication between these people is needed to address personnel issues.
Responsible for providing leadership, mentoring, and positive culture for employees. Trying to get the best product requires teamwork and good leadership. There needs to be solid communication between team members to coach and mentor employees. Team members should show respect at all times. When your team cooperates and works together, departments usually are more successful. The foreman role should always be fair but firm when needed. This trait shows strong leadership.
