Under close supervision, sets up and operates all equipment within the HVOF production environment. Responsible for measuring and controlling product quality and making process changes within the scope of the standard operating procedures. Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
Position Summary:
- Under general supervision, operates the Gundrill equipment of metal parts to print specifications.
- Performs required quality workmanship through the use of precision measuring instruments, uses SPC charts & graphs and special test equipment.
- Follows scheduled workflow assignments in order to meet customer demands and production control requirements.
- Works towards meeting established standards and performance requirements.
Key Position Responsibilities:
- The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Machines metal parts to print specifications and established performance standards.
- Performs quality workmanship through the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Refers to drawings, engineering prints and written instructions to machine products to customer / engineering specifications.
- Follows scheduled workflow according to assigned priorities and communicates deviations to department lead.
- Works toward increased performance and makes adjustments to equipment and set-ups as needed.
- Insures that all materials are available prior to initiating production and communicates shortages to department lead.
- Conforms to written instructions and procedures to achieve increased performance in production and quality workmanship.
- Monitors equipment maintenance and adheres to safety regulations.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned or necessitated by change or condition.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED; one year experience post high school machining or related coursework.
- Knowledge of tooling and precision set-ups with consistent quality results.
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of machinery speeds and feeds utilizing a variety of high strength materials.
- Ability to read prints and engineering drawings.
- Ability to read, work and follow instructions in English.
- Ability to perform machining on a variety of high strength materials.
Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Experience in an Aerospace manufacturing environment preferred.
ITAR Requirement:
- Due to ITAR regulations, this position requires that the employee must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) or a Foreign Person for whom a license is obtained.
Quality Requirement:
- Employees will participate as required in understanding, implementing and maintaining the Company Quality Policy in accordance with AS-9100C and/or ISO-9001:2009 requirements.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- This is primarily a position that requires employees to stand for 8 hours and machine production parts.
- This position requires lifting parts up to 30 lbs unassisted
- The employee also moves throughout the building to collect, deliver, and handle production parts.

The pay range represents the low and high end of the salary range we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, education, skills, qualifications, performance, and business or organizational needs.
Pay Range: $18 to $23/hour.
