Machinist I - 2nd Shift

Pay range: $20.25 - 28.25/hr DOE

Pay range during training period: $19-27/hr on 1st Shift

Position Summary

Listed work hours 3:30 p.m. to Midnight (2nd shift)

Training occurs during 1st shift (7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)

This position is responsible for the manufacture of parts of low production runs using manual machine tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates manual machines to complete work orders
  • Ensures precision is maintained in all machining tasks
  • Inspects parts according to policies and procedures
  • Makes and/or modifies tooling if necessary
  • Monitors and records inventory used (tooling, supplies and raw materials) and notifies appropriate personnel
  • Qualifies measuring tools on a daily basis and as needed during the shift
• Cleans machine, tooling, and parts and performs basic machine maintenance as required
• Required to perform quality inspection of 1st piece as verified by supervisor or quality technician
• Complete training requirements for continual technical growth as required
• Practices good housekeeping and maintains a practical and clean workspace.
• Assist with training of Manufacturing Associates as applicable
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High school diploma and one year machining experience. One year certificate from college or technical school and six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to set and use measuring tools.
• Ability to read and understand blue prints (GD&T a plus)
