- Two-year machine technology certificate or similar experience.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand basic drawings, oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrate ability to use/interpret basic shop inspection tools and manually input data into computer.
- Generate mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of machine tool operations. Be familiar with the company's safety and health policy program.

As aMachinist in Richland, WA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. The Component Center utilizes high precision and specialized equipment to produce components for the Fuel Bundle assembly. Your work will include:
- Under supervision sets up equipment, selects proper tooling, machine feeds and speeds, and carries out the sequence of operations.
- Performs handwork on components such as deburring or polishing.
- With guidance interprets drawings/specifications to understand component dimensional requirements and production sequence.
- Obtains periodic independent over check inspections of machining steps performed.
- Routinely checks/gages own work per established methods and makes routine adjustments of machine controls within allowable limits to maintain specified tolerances and throughput requirements.
- Immediately stops production and notifies technical support if out of tolerance conditions occur.
- Performs routine chip removal, machine lubrication, coolant additions/clean-outs.
- Assists in routine maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
- Complies with all plant work rules, regulations and specific instructions, maintains required records, logs and documentation.
- Maintains a clean, orderly and safe work area.
- Suggests improvements in work methods and procedures.
- Properly handles hazardous materials.
- During lull periods of production, may be directed by management to support other business units and may include travel to nuclearsites.
- To play an active role in creating a safe and healthy workplace and comply with all applicable safety and health rules.

Framatome’s Richland, WA facility is a licensed nuclear fuel manufacturing site and complies with US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and US Department of Energy (DOE) regulations. This position is safety-sensitive and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening is required. Any employment offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation.
Your Total Rewards Package
The starting pay rate for this position is $26.00per hour. After a successfully completed introductory period the pay increases to $29.25 per hour and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
