Overview:
- Tier One Technologies has an immediate need for a Mainframe Computer Systems Security Specialist for our US Government client.
- This will be a 100% remote contract-to-hire position.
- SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.
- Implement and assist with the internal Mainframe information security policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Direct the continuing support of Mainframe security workflow, personnel, and software.
- Ensure the accurate and timely completion of Mainframe security workflow.
- Lead security-related project teams which could include Information Systems, Inspection Services, CMO, OIG, Systems Support Branch, HQ management, and computer users.
- Implement information security requirements. Review implementation and policy compliance.
- Monitor daily RACF security reports and develop new reports as needed by security, management, and auditors.
- Develop information required for risk management and assessment, reviews and audits.
- Works with technical vendors and Systems Support Branch to coordinate and install product-to-RACF security interfaces.
- Provide technical expertise and assistance in specialized security areas such as encryption and telecommunications.
- Acquire technical expertise in new security products and new releases of current software.
- Develop a course curriculum for information security training and provide on-site instruction and review. Write training guides and security documentation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or associated discipline preferred.
- 9+ years of IT experience. Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Strong knowledge of Mainframe operating system software, PC software (Excel, Word), and network software.
- Strong knowledge of systems analysis, design of computer applications, and database management.
- Proficiency in JCL and Mainframe system utilities.
- Knowledge of Mainframe security package IBM RACF and familiarity with zSecure software.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and internal policies relating to computer and information security.
- Ability to write and articulate security policies, procedures, guidelines, technical bulletins, training material, and documentation.
- Ability to oversee and conduct reviews and audits to ensure enforcement of security policy, programs, and procedures.
- Familiarity with UDB--DB2, CICS, REXX and SAS a plus.
- Ability to program using zSecure proprietary language CARLa is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be a US Citizen or have permanent residence status (Green Card).
- Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening, criminal history, and credit checks.
- Must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
- Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members).
