Purpose of Your Position
**Full time : 9:30am - 6pm ** must be avaiable on weekends as needed
To maintain the grounds of a domestic or commercial property, conducting minor repairs to the structure and responding to requests from clients, Supervisor, or end-users.
The essential functions of your job are the following:
· Maintaining grounds by mowing lawns, clearing leaves, and gritting paths when necessary
· Inspecting, fixing, and maintaining equipment and machinery
· Completing scheduled maintenance tasks given by maintenance supervisor
· Conducting preventative maintenance and identifying when items need upgrading or replacing.
· Providing information and advice on maintenance issues to clients and customers
· Delivering excellent customer service
· Liaising with contractors to ensure that they complete projects on time.
· Painting and decorating or conducting repairs to flooring and other fittings.
· Ensuring rooms are maintained and fully equipped.
· Must be able to lift at least 45lbs
Other Responsibilities
· Respond to any request for “code strong”.
Staff Development
· Attend and participate in all mandatory in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs.
· Duties and responsibilities assigned for the safe and continued operations of the facility.
Safety and Sanitation
· Reports all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., immediately.
Equipment and Supply Functions
· Reports equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to your Supervisor as soon as possible.
· Ensures supplies have been replenished in work areas as necessary.
· Assures that work/assignment areas are clean and tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored leaving such areas on breaks, end of workday, etc.
Resident Rights
· Maintains confidentiality of resident information.
· Knocks before entering a resident’s room.
· Follows DHS, CDPH, and DMH resident’s rights in accordance with Title 22.
Working Conditions
· Is subject to frequent interruptions.
· Works beyond working normal working hours, weekends and holidays and other shifts/positions as necessary.
· Is subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)
· Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.
· Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the day, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
· Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B Viruses.
· Communicates with Rehab Department and other department personnel.
· Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, visitors, etc.
· Is involved with residents, family members, personnel, visitors, government agencies and personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
· May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.

· Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
· Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
· Most possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors, and the public.
· Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
· Must possess the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
· Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
· Be able to follow written and oral instructions.
· Must maintain confidentiality.
· Must have good organizational and problem-solving abilities.
· Reports equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to your Supervisor as soon as possible.
· Must be able to provide handy man work
· Ensures supplies have been replenished in work areas as necessary.
· Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
