Introduction
Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Maintenance Assistant position. This position is a contract opportunity which is expected to be on-site in Orlando, FL for a duration of 3 months with a possible extension.
- Assist in operation and general maintenance of all plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and essential repairs related to the facility.
- Respond to in-house Work Orders and PM's on a daily basis, and in a timely manner.
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Knowledge and experience in performing the duties associated with routine maintenance procedures, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, alarm systems, locksmith, and other mechanical systems of the hospital, such as OHM meters, welders, hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, leak detectors, welding machines, power tools, ladders, grinders, key cutting machines, HVAC hoods and vacuum machines, and other tools, equipment and materials as required to perform the job.
- Ability to document records neatly and accurately.
- Have some computer experience, working with a healthcare software computer system is desirable.
- Knowledge of safe hand and power tool usage
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Effective communication among employees, and between employees, patients, visitors and supervisors is essential to ensure quality patient care and to avoid misunderstanding, errors and miscommunications which could have a detrimental effect on the health, safety and well-being of patients and co-workers.
- Effectively review verbal and written instructions relating to policies and procedures, laws and regulations, and read labels of hazardous chemicals and warning labels, to prevent misunderstandings, errors, injury, and miscommunications in the provision of quality patient care and other job-related services, employees in this position are required to have the capability of fluently speaking, reading, and writing English.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Employees must fulfill the performance standards of this position and comply with policies and procedures of CTMC, including those set out in the Employee Guidelines Handbook or otherwise communicated (verbally or in writing) to employees.
- Must learn and comply with all CTMC safety rules
- Always use appropriate safety equipment
- Immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisor
- Familiar with safety features or equipment, machinery, or materials, or materials encompassed by job responsibilities and check with supervisor if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function.
- Works with and has access to patient data, personnel concerns, other confidential and sensitive information related to Medical Staff, incident reports, and other areas of concern.
- Maintains confidentiality appropriately and at all times.
