About the Job
Chesapeake Health & Rehabilitation Center in Chesapeake is recruiting for a Maintenance Director for a 180 bed skilled nursing home. The 100,000 square ft. facility is conveniently located next to Chesapeake Regional Hospital off of Battlefield Blvd. The facility has been a part of the Chesapeake community for over 45 years.
The Maintenance Director maintains preventive maintenance schedules using an electronic facility management system, repairs physical structures, maintains utility systems of building, and maintains grounds. Supervises 2 support staff and contractors as applicable. Installs, services, and repairs mechanical equipment. The Maintenance Director is a hands-on department head level position and serves as the facility safety coordinator. This is a salaried position with routine weekday hours. Availability off hours/weekends for emergencies may be needed as circumstances warrant.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Licensure: Valid driver’s license
Experience and/or Pre-requisites
- Two years’ experience in Maintenance in a commercial setting, Healthcare experience preferred.
- Possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to diagnose and repair the above systems.
- Must be CFC certified in refrigeration Type I minimum within 6 months of hire date.

- Basic computer skills such as e-mail, electronic order entry, processing of invoices, and general recordkeeping
